<p>&#8222;Brits today think back abour <strong>Tony Blair’s ‘Cool Britannia’ </strong>with a sense of cynicism. The idea that the UK could be a significant global exporter of pop music, fashion, and design was nothing new then (it was in the Swinging Sixties) nor is it today. Yet there’s much Poland could learn from the way Britain touts its creative talent.</p>
<p><strong>If Poland wants</strong> to move its economy higher up the value-added ladder, away from simply being a centre of low-cost labour, it needs to harness the creativity of its people. To this end, the National Culture Centre (Narodowe Centrum Kultury &#8211; NCK) has launched an initiative called <strong>Kultura się liczy</strong>, literally ‘culture counts’. I was invited to take part in a discussion on TokFM radio today, to highlight the differences between the UK and Poland in this area [...].</p>
